How To Get Unlimited Carbonated Water At Home

I usually write about technology, small business, travel, and wine. However, I’m an unabashed fan of carbonated water, and I’ve received many questions (and been poked fun at plenty) about my carbonated water system, which has a prominent place in my family’s kitchen and delivers virtually unlimited carbonated water.

I love drinking cold carbonated water. It’s refreshing and helps me drink more water during the day. I especially like putting carbonated water in my water bottle for long drives or exercise. Exercising on a warm day and then taking a swig of carbonated water feels decadent.

Carbonated water, also known as soda water, sparkling water, fizzy water, or seltzer water, is water into which carbon dioxide gas has been dissolved under pressure. This process of carbonation results in the formation of carbonic acid, which gives the water its characteristic fizzy or bubbly sensation when consumed.

Types of Carbonated Water

There are actually several types of carbonated water:

  • Seltzer water is carbonated water with no added minerals or salts. It can be made at home with carbonation machines. This is the type of carbonated water we’ll focus on in this article.
