An AI-inspired visual tour of some of America’s most digitally rendered iconic neighborhoods.

In an age where artificial intelligence (AI) weaves into the fabric of creativity, this gallery of images portrays typical neighborhoods in 20 iconic US cities, each rendered not by human hands but by the algorithms of artificial intelligence.

From Beverly Hills’ palm-lined luxury to Washington D.C.’s row houses, these images were generated using MidJourney. This AI-powered tool translates text descriptions into rich, detailed visual interpretations, often used for creative and artistic purposes.

As a society increasingly comfortable with virtual assistants and automated services, we’re now confronting a new frontier — how AI interprets our environment. But does it succeed in capturing the essence or merely present a caricature of urban landscapes? It’s a visual feast that teases out the boundaries of AI’s role in our understanding of urban identity.
